All great can't control outside issues. The only thing I didn't like was that Dining cart was for sleeping ticket holders.
There were a couple of major traffic incidents on the highway causing major congestion. The driver was able to alter his route to avoid lengthy delays. He regularly communicated the situation with passengers.
The amtrak train was over 3 hours late. I missed my connection and had to run to grand central to pick up the metro train to get in at 2am rather then just after 10pm. Considering the issues with hygiene and that the food aboard train was served to me moldy I will drive or fly next time I travel.
I missed my bus due to the station locations changing. Google Maps said that the Amtrak station was in one area, and when I got there that building had closed down. So I had to drive 20 minutes to another bus station hoping that my bus would be there, but I got there late and probably missed the bus if it was actually going to be there. Why not give a proper address that the rider can put into GPS? It would make things so much easier. I wasted 20 some dollars on this and had to arrive to my job one day late.
Good experience. Only thing that could be improved is the address of the stations should be included on the tickets. It was very confusing to have to Google where in San Francisco to go to be picked up.
Very disappointed with the misrepresentation of Amtrak. When I booked my trip I was under the impression that I was booking a train seat. There was no mention upon booking that what I actually would be riding was a bus. I am not from the USA but when train bookings are made it is through Amtrak or so I thought. When my online reservation came through it read: TRAIN: 8948 Amtrak Thruway Connecting Service. It was not until I arrived at a train station in Seattle that was not running. Instead a person told me I had to get a bus outside of the station. The bus ride and thankfully the bus driver, was very helpful and told me to call the Amtrak to deal with the issue. When I contacted an Amtrak rep she was very curt and told me she would not issue an compensation or apology and told me to contact corporate office. She gave me an email… Another person passing the buck. I will not be travelling anytime soon because appently unbeknownst to me there are NO TRAINS.Terrible misrepresentation and customer service.
Extremely punctual and staf organised the commuters well to at the respective terminals before going down the Lines to board the train.
The driver to Boston today, 11.7.22 on our 6.50am train was very engaging in his announcements and a chirpy guy.
This was an awesome way to travel. The bus was very clean w hand sanitizer. Mask was optional. The bus itself had a bathroom and a/c. Bus driver was very polite and helpful. Would and are using Amtrak again.
Our driver was great and very lighthearted even though he was late. I wish there was a way to find out if the bus is in route when it’s running behind. We sat in the hot sun waiting for the bus not knowing what to do.
The only qualm I have is that the transferring bus had to wait for an extra hour for a train to arrive at the station. All other aspects of my trip were great.

Not only is he an excellent driver he cracked some jokes and was very informative en route plus he singled handed loaded the cases on and off twice as we had to cross the border into USA
Wifi in Amtrak building Seattle needs updating. It did not allow me to download my ArriveCAN or any other wifi apps. Went to coffee shop a block away, everything downloaded fine, but I missed my bus despite arriving early for it
Overall a good experience, however the directions on where to board the bus at Union Station in Chicago could have been more clear. Would have been helpful if it simply said somewhere to board on Canal Street.
The bus never came. We arrived 30 minutes early and waiting for 2 hours in the rain for the bus and it never came. We had to pay 300 dollars for an Uber to Portland instead.
The wait was rather long they kept changing the time the train would arrive which made me miss a funeral that was the worst of it but I would say make sure that the train are service properly before it leaves Station
Train was taken in Seattle to PDX, staff almost nonexistent, washrooms filthy. Train, comfortable seating, swift and easy. Feels like with more staff and $ investment in all amenities it could be fun!
Both of the employees that we asked for help were really mean. They yelled at multiple people and when we asked about our luggage they got upset when we asked for clarification. They told us that they would take our luggage form the train to the bus and when we tried to make sure we did not have to move our luggage she yelled at a
I was very satisfied with the service, cost, and timeliness of the bus trip. One significant problem; the email I received from Amtrak said that the bus stopped at the Buena Vista VFW outpost when it actually stopped near the town center at Main and Railroad (much better).
